All,

I have posted solutions for last week's homework here, and for this week's homework here. Please let me know if you spot any errors, or have any questions.

I have also distributed marks for both assignments, though those of you who have contacted me about having missed the deadline may not have marks available yet.

The test will be administered on Crowdmark like the second quiz. I have not entirely determined the format yet but will do my best to do so tomorrow.

To address a question which one of you asked me earlier today: the point of the long question in the practice problems was not to know everything about arctan, but rather to see how we can apply the various things we have learned in this course to study and describe the behaviour of a general analytic function. This is rather similar to how one learns about things like the first and second derivative tests, local extrema, and concavity in elementary calculus and then graphs a specific function as an application: the point is the general principles rather than the specific function. (On the other hand, what one can do with functions of a complex variable is much broader than what one can do with a function of a real variable, so focus on the general principles rather than the details of the questions!)

Please let me know if you have any questions!
