The course-specific syllabus information has been uploaded to the section Quercus page, under "Section-specific syllabus and lecture notes". It is also available here. Please take a minute to read through it (it is short). There are two particular points I would like to emphasise:
-- In future classes (unlike today's), I will assume that you have already read the material and thus will not spend much time going over the concepts; instead we will do things to give you opportunities to engage with the material. Thus it is important that you have prepared beforehand.
-- I would like to correct what I said in class about answering in-class TopHat questions from a remote location. This is NOT permitted at all, and is considered an academic offense. (It is also not something which cannot be done without a lot of effort.)
I have also put together a Doodle poll for office hours, which is available here. Note that the poll requires you to enter a name; there is no need to use your full name or even your real name as I plan to use the information in aggregate.
The pre-class problems to be completed before Wednesday's class (for sections 5.1 and 5.2) are now available on WeBWorK; please let me know if you have any problems accessing them. The problems for next week are now also available on WeBWorK.
I will put up lecture notes for today's lecture either this evening or (more likely) tomorrow.
Let me know if you have any questions!
