Welcome to section 0102 of MAT136, Calculus 1B! Just a few notes at the start of the class:

-- Our first class will be this Monday, January 6, at 9.10 AM in MC 102. Please do not be late.

-- I will post information about office hours soon. I also expect to generally be available before and after class.

-- Note that there are two Quercus pages, the main course page and the section-specific one. Most of the important material is on the main page. The section-specific one only has section-specific announcements (like this one), the section-specific part of the syllabus, and materials from lecture. It also (this is the most important thing) has the link to this section's WeBWorK page.

-- Note that we will be using at least three separate online platforms for this class: Quercus, WeBWorK, and TopHat. I presume that everyone is already set up on Quercus, and WeBWorK is accessed directly from Quercus. You need a TopHat code to join this course; the code is 739206. Please make sure you are able to access TopHat as we will generally be using it during class.

-- On Monday we will talk about material from section 10.1 of the textbook. The pre-class questions which would normally be assigned have been made due instead after class, namely on Friday.

-- Course materials will be made available on Quercus. Lecture materials and announcements will also be available on the course webpage.

-- Please use the e-mail on the course webpage, ncarruth@math.toronto.edu, to communicate with me. I will aim to respond to all e-mails within 1 business day. (Note that I neither check nor respond to e-mail on Sundays, and Saturdays can be hit-and-miss.)
