I have posted lecture notes for this week here. In addition to what we did in class (and the extra calculations which I promised I would include in the lecture notes; I think I have everything anyway, please let me know if I forgot anything!) I have also added a discussion of how eigenfunctions of the Laplacian can be used to solve the heat equation.

Please let me know if you find any mysterious passages, or typographical or other errors!

I may not be able to post practice problems tonight, but in that case I will post them by sometime tomorrow morning.

The make-up midterm will be tomorrow (Friday, June 5). If you have not received an e-mail from me with the detailed time and location it means that I am not planning on your writing it tomorrow and you will not be able to write it if you show up, so if you think you should be writing the make-up midterm but haven't heard the details from me you need to write me immediately.
